Out and About-Natural Hair Beat

A recent Essence magazine article featured
"Getting your Style together."
Guess what? Half of the ladies featured were Natural.
Have we arrived to a place close to mainstream acceptance?
Not so fast...
One rapper asked "What's Up with all of these Nappy Heads?"
So we wake from our dream,
to realize we have more educating to do.
But, You {GO} Essence!!! Rock those funky kinks!

  1. I love the hairstyle in the picture. My texture has changed so much and I just can't seem to get my hair to grow like I want it to. I really miss my locks, but I really wanna try to make "a natural" work.

    You're right... Essence is getting better at featuring us in our natural state. It is so refreshing to be mostly "acceptable" now. It's taken a long time.
